Welcome to Studio Scrapping with Amy Ulen! This video celebrates the launch of the Autumn/Winter 2011 Idea Book by showing you the new kits and patterns available in Studio J. As this really isn’t a tutorial, I’m calling this video a quick tip. I’ll provide more quick tips along the way to show you some fun features of Studio J without taking the time to do a full tutorial. As always, you’ll find more information on my blog at http://studioscrapping.blogspot.com/.
I hope you will follow my blog while you are there.
If you haven’t checked out my new blog yet, be sure to read my “A Big Thank You & Celebration” post! You’ll also get a look at the new CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Collection. Mine will be here soon; I can’t wait!
I’m really ready to start scrapbooking my Hawaii photos and to finish some pages I’m donating to a friend who recently started chemo for bone cancer. Her son asked her to create a scrapbook for him, so my goal is to help her make his wish come true. Sharing our stories with the ones we love is so important! I don’t have kids, so I think I lose sight of that sometimes. Yet, I’m the only one who is qualified to tell my story! I’ll share the layouts that I make for her here. I’m working on the Technique Tuesday “Live in the Moment” kit by Ali Edwards right now. The inks that came with the kit are so nice; they are so chalky and smooth and look absolutely beautiful.
I haven’t posted for a couple weeks, but now I’m back with a huge thank you to all of you who voted for my Super Stars layout. I won 2nd place in Close To My Heart’s Studio J Free-for-All contest! You know what that means? I’m passing my winnings on to you! Visit my blog and Facebook page often as you never know when I may have a 5-pack or two to give away.
Although I was disappointed in missing convention this year, there is so much to celebrate. I had an amazing time in Hawaii and am counting down the days until the new kits are released on Studio J so that I can scrapbook my photos. While at convention, CTMH consultants were able to celebrate the announcement that CTMH now has a Cricut cartridge! Well, as I had not spent all that extra money at convention, I figured this was the perfect time for me to get a Cricut, too! So, all’s well that ends well. Here is a little video to whet your appetite. If you would like more information about our Cricut package, please free to contact me.

CHA is around the corner and that means a look at all the new products coming out! Nikki Sivils released her new line early on this blog post. She is also giving away the entire line to one lucky winner, so be sure to repost the link on your own blog! I’m a huge fan of My Lil’ Monster (thinking LOs about my cats) and You’re a Hoot (want to use some of those stickers on my Harry Potter LOs)!

I’m so excited about this layout! I can’t wait to get the actual prints, because I’m going to add lots of Bitty Sparkles to add texture and continue the space theme. These photos were taken at the Star Trek 40th Anniversary Convention in Seattle. (Kit: Stardust ~ Pattern: Front & Center ~ Kit Mix 3 ~ Techniques: rotated right page, changed color of patterned paper to black, converted photo well to journaling area & title area to photo well, modified title & focal photo in Photoshop, added text boxes filled with pattern paper & cardstock to create Star Trek design, minimal embellishments since I plan to add bling later!)

The Close To My Heart Art Department created this darling layout to advertise the June Free-for-All special and lots of people want to recreate the look. This video shows you how to use My Stickease as a guide for stitching a pattern, crop/resize borders to get a perfect scallop edge, add extra matting to a focal photo, modify the intensity of patterned paper by changing the color (even though the color is the same as the original paper!), create a bow and “wrap” ribbon around paper, and place My Stickease across two pages. I hope you will let me know what you think by leaving a comment here or on my YouTube channel.
I completed a layout while cropping with a friend last night and another one today on Studio J! I love weekends like this. Only 1 1/2 weeks left of school and then I hope to spend my summer in many such creative endeavors. Be sure to check out the video on my new blog, Studio Scrapping! I’ll post my other layout after I talk to my sister and iron out the journalling for it. 🙂
Creating Stitched Patterns on Cardstock!
Welcome to Studio Scrapping with Amy! In this video, I scraplift a design from the CTMH art department using stitching to create a pattern on cardstock. I also show you how to crop/resize borders to get a perfect scallop edge, add extra matting to a focal photo, modify the intensity of paper by changing colors, create a bow and “wrap” ribbon around paper, plus place Stickease on two pages.
