Highlight the Details Technique Hop

Highlight the Details Step 3
Highlight the Details Technique Hop

Welcome to our “Highlight the Details” blog hop!  There are many ways to highlight the stamped details on your projects, and we’ve gathered 11 talented Close To My Heart Consultants to provide you with some inspiration.  If you are joining me from Haley Dyer’s blog, you are on the right track.  Remember, a blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.

Highlight the Details with Watercolor Pencils

Highlight the Details Step 1

Using the paper airplane stamp from Wish You Were Here (B1645), I created my own patterned paper.  This would look great if it were tone on tone using colored cardstock and ink, but it looks a little plain using Pewter Ink (Z2832) on White Daisy Cardstock (X6027).

Highlight the Details Step 2By adding Watercolor Pencils (Z4242), I was able to highlight the image and make it stand out from the background.  The pencils add subtle shading (I did not add water this time), but you could achieve a more dramatic look using ShinHan Markers (Z9977).

Highlight the Details Step 3I cut the stamped panel down using the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts (this set is currently unavailable, but it will be back soon!).  I added the panel to the rainbow paper from I Heart Us Paper Packet (X7242B)…this paper makes me so happy!  I finished off the card with more stamped images and a sentiment from Wish You Were Here (B1645).

My adventures as a CTMH consultant began in April of 2007. My goal was simply to meet my minimums so that I could enjoy the consultant discount. Little did I know that my passion for the products and teaching scrapbooking and stamping techniques would lead me to so many new friendships. I've had the good fortune to travel to a variety of CTMH events and was even asked to teach at the Studio J Boot Camp in 2011, Convention Extravaganza in 2012, and on the main stage at Convention 2015.
