Find Your Perfect Catch with the new kit from Kindred Stamps!

Greeting card with a boy and critter that reads "You're the perfect catch."

Kindred Stamps is one of my all time favorite stamping companies, so I was absolutely thrilled when I won the opportunity to be a guest designer for the Perfect Catch Kit at the Portland, Oregon, retreat earlier this year.

I received the Perfect Catch Limited Edition Kit last month and have been having a “ball” playing with it! See what I did there?!

To create the first card, I partially cut the game console die to create a card base from Accent 120lb Cover White Cardstock. I sponged the front of the card with Pumice Stone Distress Oxide ink to give it the look of a vintage Game Boy. Although you can’t tell in the photo, I cut additional pieces for the buttons and directional pads and colored them with more Distress Oxide inks. I adhered all the pieces together to create dimension.

On the inside of the card, I used retired Kindred Stamps stencils and Distress Oxide inks to create a scene with clouds and grass. I stamped the “You bring me so much joy” sentiment from the kit. After coloring the stamped critter images with OLO markers, I placed them in the scene. I used foam tape under the pink critter so it pops off the “screen” when the card is closed. These little creatures make me smile!

I was super enamored with the sunburst patterned papers in this kit, so used them for my next two cards. For both cards, I cut the sunburst patterned paper with the largest stitched die in the Kindred Stamps Card Basics Die set. I also cut the vellum and white background circle with the stitched circle from the same die set. On both cards, I heat embossed the sentiments in white on black cardstock. I used some white enamel dots from my stash to finish off the cards.

The ball die from the kit works really well with the stitched circle from the Card Basics Die set. I cut the top and bottom portions of the ball out of white cardstock and colored the top portion with Catherine Pooler Rockin’ Red ink. I cut the middle portion out of black glitter cardstock and then adhered all the pieces to the larger stitched circle.

On the final card, I added a couple lines on the cheeks of the boy. All of the stamped images have white highlights.

Catch this kit while you can! Preorders close on May 25, 2023. This is a limited edition set, so don’t delay in placing your order.

Which of these cuties do you plan to catch first?!

My adventures as a CTMH consultant began in April of 2007. My goal was simply to meet my minimums so that I could enjoy the consultant discount. Little did I know that my passion for the products and teaching scrapbooking and stamping techniques would lead me to so many new friendships. I've had the good fortune to travel to a variety of CTMH events and was even asked to teach at the Studio J Boot Camp in 2011, Convention Extravaganza in 2012, and on the main stage at Convention 2015.
